> > (2) If the Commissioner of Police cancels a notice, he or she must cause a copy of the cancellation to be sent immediately to the Registrar of Motor Vehicles who must give effect to the cancellation.

> > (3) [*\[Section 18D Subsection (3) amended by No. 38 of 2017, s. 35, Applied:03 Dec 2018\]*](/view/html/inforce/2018-12-03/act-2017-038#GS35@Hpb@EN) If a person is disqualified from driving, in accordance with a road safety disqualification notice, and is before a court for any reason in relation to the alleged offence, the court may make an order cancelling the notice if it is satisfied that the person would suffer severe and unusual hardship if the order were not made or that, having regard to the public interest and any special circumstances of the case, it is appropriate to do so.
