### sec.90 Early resolution encouraged If an external review application is made to the information commissioner, the commissioner must— identify opportunities and processes for early resolution of the external review application, including mediation; and promote settlement of the external review application. Subsection (1) does not apply if the commissioner decides not to deal with, or to further deal with, the external review application under section 94 . The commissioner may suspend an external review at any time to allow the participants in the external review to negotiate a settlement. If an external review is resolved informally— the commissioner must give each participant in the external review notice that the external review is complete; and the external review is taken to be complete at the date of the notice mentioned in paragraph (a) .
