### sec.78C Right to amend personal information in particular documents
Subject to this Act, an individual has a right under this Act to amend, if inaccurate, incomplete, out of date or misleading—
documents of an agency to the extent they contain the individual’s personal information; and
documents of a Minister to the extent they contain the individual’s personal information.
See part 2 for how to exercise this right to amend.
Exclusions of the right are provided for under—
section 78G , which restricts the making of amendment applications to the OIC, the information commissioner, the RTI commissioner or the privacy commissioner; and
part 4 , which provides particular circumstances where an entity may refuse to deal with an application; and
section 78S , which provides grounds on which an entity may refuse to make an amendment.
Subsection (1) applies to documents regardless of when the documents came into existence.
