### sch.4-sec.22 Tenant’s obligations generally— s 188 The tenant must keep the premises clean, having regard to their condition at the start of the tenancy. The tenant must not maliciously damage, or allow someone else to maliciously damage, the premises. The tenant’s obligations under subclause (1) do not apply to the extent the obligations would have the effect of requiring the tenant to repair, or compensate the lessor for, damage to the premises caused by an act of domestic violence experienced by the tenant. In this clause— start of the tenancy , in relation to the premises, means the start of the tenancy under the former agreement.
