### sec.96 Rent payment must not be applied for any other purpose
This section applies if the tenant pays an amount for rent to the lessor or lessor’s agent.
The lessor or lessor’s agent must not apply the amount to, or use the amount for, any other purpose.
Maximum penalty—40 penalty units.
An amount paid by the tenant for rent is taken to be payment of rent even if the lessor or lessor’s agent applies it to, or uses it for, another purpose.
(sec.96-ssec.1) This section applies if the tenant pays an amount for rent to the lessor or lessor’s agent.
