### sec.447 False or misleading documents
A person must not give an authorised person or the authority a document containing information the person knows is false or misleading in a material particular.
Maximum penalty—20 penalty units.
However, the person does not commit an offence against subsection (1) if, when giving the document, the person—
informs the authorised person or the authority, to the best of the person’s ability, how it is false or misleading; and
gives the correct information to the authorised person or the authority if the person has, or can reasonably obtain, the correct information.
It is enough for a complaint for an offence against subsection (1) to state that the document was false or misleading to the person’s knowledge.
