### sec.24 Provision stating that lessor or lessor’s agent or provider or provider’s agent must do something This section applies to a provision of this Act stating that the lessor or lessor’s agent must do something (the required act ). The reference in the provision to the lessor’s agent is a reference to a person who is the agent of the lessor to do the required act. If the required act is done, whether by the agent or personally by the lessor, both the lessor and the agent are taken to have complied with the provision. If the required act is omitted to be done, both the lessor and the agent are taken to have contravened the provision and, if the contravention is an offence— each of them may be dealt with for the offence; and section 512 (3) applies to a proceeding for the offence. In this section— a reference to the lessor is taken to include a reference to the provider; and a reference to the lessor’s agent is taken to be a reference to the provider’s agent.
