### sec.154 Increase in rental bond The tenant or resident must increase a rental bond if— the rent payable under the residential tenancy agreement or rooming accommodation agreement increases; and See sections 91 and 105 for the requirements to be met before rent may be increased. the lessor or provider gives written notice to the tenant or resident to increase the rental bond; and the notice is given at least 11 months after— the residential tenancy agreement or rooming accommodation agreement started; or if the rental bond has been increased previously following the giving of a notice under this section—the day stated in the notice, or the last notice, for making the increase; and the notice states the day by which the increase must be made; and the day stated is at least 1 month after the tenant or resident is given the notice about the increase. s 154 amd 2021 No. 19 s 107 s ch 1 pt 1 ; 2023 No. 8 s 58F - (a) the rent payable under the residential tenancy agreement or rooming accommodation agreement increases; and Note— See sections 91 and 105 for the requirements to be met before rent may be increased. - (b) the lessor or provider gives written notice to the tenant or resident to increase the rental bond; and - (c) the notice is given at least 11 months after— (i) the residential tenancy agreement or rooming accommodation agreement started; or (ii) if the rental bond has been increased previously following the giving of a notice under this section—the day stated in the notice, or the last notice, for making the increase; and - (i) the residential tenancy agreement or rooming accommodation agreement started; or - (ii) if the rental bond has been increased previously following the giving of a notice under this section—the day stated in the notice, or the last notice, for making the increase; and - (d) the notice states the day by which the increase must be made; and - (e) the day stated is at least 1 month after the tenant or resident is given the notice about the increase. - (i) the residential tenancy agreement or rooming accommodation agreement started; or - (ii) if the rental bond has been increased previously following the giving of a notice under this section—the day stated in the notice, or the last notice, for making the increase; and
