### sch.3-sec.5 Meaning of rockiness
Rockiness is the average density of—
unattached rock fragments larger than 60mm average maximum dimension on the surface of the land; and
Rock fragments refers to cobbles, stones and boulders as defined under the field handbook.
consolidated outcrops of underlying bedrock protruding above the surface.
The average density must be worked out using the visual estimation charts in the field handbook.
