### sec.44 Requirement notice
An assessor for an assessment application may, by notice given within the prescribed time frame, require (a requirement notice ) the applicant to do all or any of the following within a stated reasonable period—
complete or correct the application if it appears to an assessor to be incorrect, incomplete or defective;
give an assessor additional information about, or relevant to, the application;
if the assessor is the chief executive—notify the application under division 4 ;
give an assessor an independent report by an appropriately qualified person, or a statutory declaration, verifying all or any of the following—
any information included in the application;
any additional information required under paragraph (b) .
The requirement notice may require the statutory declaration—
to be made by an appropriately qualified independent person or by the applicant; and
if the applicant is a corporation—to be made for the applicant by an executive officer of the applicant corporation.
The applicant must bear any costs incurred in complying with the requirement notice.
An assessor may extend the stated period.
