### sec.143 Appointment and qualifications
The chief executive may appoint any of the following individuals as an authorised officer—
a public service employee;
with the individual’s consent, another individual.
However, the chief executive may appoint a person as an authorised officer only if the chief executive is satisfied the person is qualified for appointment because the person has the necessary expertise or experience.
(sec.143-ssec.1) The chief executive may appoint any of the following individuals as an authorised officer— a public service employee; with the individual’s consent, another individual.
(sec.143-ssec.2) However, the chief executive may appoint a person as an authorised officer only if the chief executive is satisfied the person is qualified for appointment because the person has the necessary expertise or experience.
