Mechanically, this instrument applies the Rail Safety National Law as Tasmanian law from 20 January 2013 (s 1). The full national text appears in the schedule to the South Australian Act and the Rail Safety National Law (Tasmania) Act 2012 records Tasmania’s local modifications; rail operators, regulators and others subject to rail-safety rules are therefore brought under the national regime (s 2).
