### sec.14 Methods and procedures— Act , s 28
For section 28 (6) of the Act , definition radiation safety and protection measures , each of the following measures is prescribed—
safe handling procedures to be followed for the radiation source;
procedures and methods for ensuring the safe use of the radiation source in carrying out the radiation practice;
if the radiation practice involves the production of images—procedures and methods for ensuring the correct use of any ancillary imaging equipment used in connection with the use of the radiation source to carry out the practice;
quality control procedures to be undertaken for—
the radiation source; and
if the radiation source is a sealed source apparatus—the apparatus; and
if the radiation practice involves the production of images—any ancillary imaging equipment used in connection with the use of the radiation source to carry out the practice;
remediation procedures to be followed for an accident that could reasonably be expected to happen in relation to carrying out the radiation practice.
In this section—
remediation procedures , for an accident, means procedures designed to minimise a radiation hazard arising from the accident.
(sec.14-ssec.1) For section 28 (6) of the Act , definition radiation safety and protection measures , each of the following measures is prescribed— safe handling procedures to be followed for the radiation source; procedures and methods for ensuring the safe use of the radiation source in carrying out the radiation practice; if the radiation practice involves the production of images—procedures and methods for ensuring the correct use of any ancillary imaging equipment used in connection with the use of the radiation source to carry out the practice; quality control procedures to be undertaken for— the radiation source; and if the radiation source is a sealed source apparatus—the apparatus; and if the radiation practice involves the production of images—any ancillary imaging equipment used in connection with the use of the radiation source to carry out the practice; remediation procedures to be followed for an accident that could reasonably be expected to happen in relation to carrying out the radiation practice.
(sec.14-ssec.2) In this section— remediation procedures , for an accident, means procedures designed to minimise a radiation hazard arising from the accident.
- (a) safe handling procedures to be followed for the radiation source;
- (b) procedures and methods for ensuring the safe use of the radiation source in carrying out the radiation practice;
- (c) if the radiation practice involves the production of images—procedures and methods for ensuring the correct use of any ancillary imaging equipment used in connection with the use of the radiation source to carry out the practice;
- (d) quality control procedures to be undertaken for— (i) the radiation source; and (ii) if the radiation source is a sealed source apparatus—the apparatus; and (iii) if the radiation practice involves the production of images—any ancillary imaging equipment used in connection with the use of the radiation source to carry out the practice;
- (i) the radiation source; and
- (ii) if the radiation source is a sealed source apparatus—the apparatus; and
- (iii) if the radiation practice involves the production of images—any ancillary imaging equipment used in connection with the use of the radiation source to carry out the practice;
- (e) remediation procedures to be followed for an accident that could reasonably be expected to happen in relation to carrying out the radiation practice.
- (i) the radiation source; and
- (ii) if the radiation source is a sealed source apparatus—the apparatus; and
- (iii) if the radiation practice involves the production of images—any ancillary imaging equipment used in connection with the use of the radiation source to carry out the practice;
