### sec.225 Existing exemptions
Subsection (2) applies if—
immediately before the commencement, a person was exempted from a provision of the repealed Act for which there is an equivalent provision under this Act; and
at the commencement, the equivalent provision would, apart from subsection (2), apply to the person.
The person is taken to be exempted from the equivalent provision for the period ending 6 months after the commencement (the 6 months period ).
If the exemption under the repealed Act was subject to a condition, the exemption from the equivalent provision is also subject to the condition.
Subsection (5) applies if—
the person makes application for a column 2 licence during the 6 months period; and
the application is relevant to the equivalent provision.
The exemption from the equivalent provision is taken to continue from the day that it would, apart from this subsection, have ended until the person is given written notice of the decision about the application.
