### sec.22 Vacancy in office
An appointed member’s office becomes vacant if the member—
completes a term of office; or
resigns office by signed notice given to the Minister; or
stops being eligible for appointment under section 15 ; or
is disqualified from continuing as an appointed member under section 19 ; or
does not consent to the Minister requesting a report about the person’s criminal history under division 4 ; or
is removed from office; or
is absent without permission of the chairperson from 3 consecutive council meetings of which proper notice has been given; or
for an appointed member nominated by a veterans’ organisation—stops being a representative of the veterans’ organisation that nominated the person.
For subsection (1) (h) , the person is not a representative of a veterans’ organisation if the organisation gives the Minister a notice stating that the person does not represent the organisation.

(sec.22-ssec.2) For subsection (1) (h) , the person is not a representative of a veterans’ organisation if the organisation gives the Minister a notice stating that the person does not represent the organisation.
- (a) completes a term of office; or
- (b) resigns office by signed notice given to the Minister; or
- (c) stops being eligible for appointment under section 15 ; or
- (d) is disqualified from continuing as an appointed member under section 19 ; or
- (e) does not consent to the Minister requesting a report about the person’s criminal history under division 4 ; or
- (f) is removed from office; or
- (g) is absent without permission of the chairperson from 3 consecutive council meetings of which proper notice has been given; or
- (h) for an appointed member nominated by a veterans’ organisation—stops being a representative of the veterans’ organisation that nominated the person.
