### sec.18 Chairperson
The Governor in Council may appoint an appointed member recommended by the Minister to be the chairperson of the council.
A person may be appointed as the chairperson at the same time the person is appointed as an appointed member.
The chairperson holds office for the term stated in the person’s instrument of appointment as chairperson.
However, the person’s appointment as chairperson ends if the person stops being a member.
If a person resigns from the office of chairperson, the person may continue to be an appointed member for the remaining term of appointment under section 16 .
