### sec.26C Minister may extend terms of office The Minister may, by notice given to the council, extend the terms of office of the elected, appointed and additional members for not more than 1 year if the Minister is satisfied the extension— is in the best interests of the university; and is necessary for the council to perform its functions and exercise its powers appropriately, effectively and efficiently. If the Minister acts under subsection (1) , the Minister must extend, by the same amount, the terms of office of all elected, appointed and additional members. The extension applies only to members holding office when the notice is given under subsection (1) .
