### sec.106 Roads and road closures
The authority may perform functions or exercise powers for a road in a reconstruction area that the authority considers necessary or desirable to perform its other functions.
Without limiting subsection (1) , the authority may, by gazette notice, permanently or temporarily close all or part of a road in a reconstruction area.
Before the closing of the road takes effect, the authority must publish a notice the authority considers appropriate about the closure in a newspaper circulating in the reconstruction area.
Failure to comply with subsection (3) does not invalidate the closure.
The authority may do everything necessary to stop traffic using a road or part of a road closed under this section.
To remove any doubt, it is declared that this section applies—
whether or not a road is a State-controlled road under the Transport Infrastructure Act 1994 ; and
whether or not the Land Act 1994 applies to a road.
