### sec.18 Criminal history reports
To decide if a person is disqualified from becoming or continuing as a council member, the Minister may ask the police commissioner for—
a written report about the criminal history of the person; and
a brief description of the circumstances of a conviction mentioned in the criminal history.
However, the Minister may make the request only if the person has given the Minister written consent for the request.
The police commissioner must comply with the request.
However, the duty to comply under subsection (3) applies only to information in the possession of the police commissioner or to which the police commissioner has access.
(sec.18-ssec.1) To decide if a person is disqualified from becoming or continuing as a council member, the Minister may ask the police commissioner for— a written report about the criminal history of the person; and a brief description of the circumstances of a conviction mentioned in the criminal history.
