### sec.12 Term of appointment
A council member holds office for the term stated in the member’s instrument of appointment.
The stated term must not be more than 4 years.
A council member may be reappointed.
However, a person must not be reappointed as a council member if the total period of the person’s appointment as a council member would be more than 12 years.
(sec.12-ssec.1) A council member holds office for the term stated in the member’s instrument of appointment.
