### sec.48 When salary is paid
A person is entitled to salary as a member from the day of the poll at which the person is elected as a member until the day the person stops being a member.
For subsection (1) , if the person is a member on the expiry or dissolution of the Assembly—
the person does not stop being a member on the expiry or dissolution; and
if the person is not elected at the general election held after the expiry or dissolution, the person stops being a member on the polling day for the general election.
(sec.48-ssec.1) A person is entitled to salary as a member from the day of the poll at which the person is elected as a member until the day the person stops being a member.
(sec.48-ssec.2) For subsection (1) , if the person is a member on the expiry or dissolution of the Assembly— the person does not stop being a member on the expiry or dissolution; and if the person is not elected at the general election held after the expiry or dissolution, the person stops being a member on the polling day for the general election.
- (a) the person does not stop being a member on the expiry or dissolution; and
- (b) if the person is not elected at the general election held after the expiry or dissolution, the person stops being a member on the polling day for the general election.
