### sec.44 Additional salary of Deputy Speaker
This section applies if—
the Deputy Speaker acts as the Speaker for a continuous period of 30 days or more; and
the Speaker is entitled to an additional salary under section 42 .
For the whole of the period the Deputy Speaker acts, the Deputy Speaker is to be paid an additional salary at the rate for the time being applicable to the office of the Speaker, instead of any additional salary payable to him or her as the Deputy Speaker.
(sec.44-ssec.1) This section applies if— the Deputy Speaker acts as the Speaker for a continuous period of 30 days or more; and the Speaker is entitled to an additional salary under section 42 .
(sec.44-ssec.2) For the whole of the period the Deputy Speaker acts, the Deputy Speaker is to be paid an additional salary at the rate for the time being applicable to the office of the Speaker, instead of any additional salary payable to him or her as the Deputy Speaker.
- (a) the Deputy Speaker acts as the Speaker for a continuous period of 30 days or more; and
- (b) the Speaker is entitled to an additional salary under section 42 .
