### sec.42 Additional salary entitlement of some members
A member who holds any of the following offices may be entitled under a remuneration determination to be paid salary in addition to the salary the member is entitled to under section 41 —
Minister
Assistant Minister and Leader of the House
Assistant Minister
Speaker
Deputy Speaker
Leader of the Opposition
Deputy Leader of the Opposition
Manager of Opposition Business
leader in the Assembly of a recognised political party, other than the Leader or Deputy Leader of the Opposition
chief government whip
senior government whip
government deputy whip
opposition whip
chairperson of a committee
member of a committee
another office approved by resolution of the Assembly to be an office to which this section applies.
A remuneration determination about additional salary may provide for different additional salaries for different Ministers having regard to the responsibilities of the Ministers.
In this section—
member , of a committee, includes, for the Committee of the Legislative Assembly, a member of the Assembly who is performing the role of a member of the committee as an alternate under the Parliament of Queensland Act 2001 , section 81 .

(sec.42-ssec.1) A member who holds any of the following offices may be entitled under a remuneration determination to be paid salary in addition to the salary the member is entitled to under section 41 — Minister Assistant Minister and Leader of the House Assistant Minister Speaker Deputy Speaker Leader of the Opposition Deputy Leader of the Opposition Manager of Opposition Business leader in the Assembly of a recognised political party, other than the Leader or Deputy Leader of the Opposition chief government whip senior government whip government deputy whip opposition whip chairperson of a committee member of a committee another office approved by resolution of the Assembly to be an office to which this section applies.
(sec.42-ssec.2) A remuneration determination about additional salary may provide for different additional salaries for different Ministers having regard to the responsibilities of the Ministers.
