### sec.92 Declaration about ownership of particular artefacts
The chief executive may, by public notice, declare that an artefact that is in, or has been removed from, a Queensland heritage place is the property of the State if the chief executive is satisfied—
the artefact is important to Queensland’s cultural heritage; and
a declaration under this section is necessary to help conserve the cultural heritage significance of the artefact.
The notice must—
include enough information to identify the artefact; and
state that a person who suffers loss because of the exercise of the chief executive’s power under subsection (1) is entitled to apply for compensation for the loss; and
state how the person may apply for the compensation.
As soon as practicable after the notice is published, the chief executive must give a copy of it to any person the chief executive reasonably considers is likely to suffer loss because of the exercise of the chief executive’s power under subsection (1) .

(sec.92-ssec.3) As soon as practicable after the notice is published, the chief executive must give a copy of it to any person the chief executive reasonably considers is likely to suffer loss because of the exercise of the chief executive’s power under subsection (1) .
- (a) the artefact is important to Queensland’s cultural heritage; and
- (b) a declaration under this section is necessary to help conserve the cultural heritage significance of the artefact.
