### sec.13 Eligibility for membership
A person can not be appointed as a member if the person—
has a conviction, other than a spent conviction, for an indictable offence or an offence against this Act; or
has been a member for at least 6 consecutive years and the proposed appointment would happen less than 1 year after the day the person was last a member.
A person who is a member can not be reappointed as a member if the reappointment would result in the person continuing as a member for more than 6 consecutive years.

(sec.13-ssec.1) A person can not be appointed as a member if the person— has a conviction, other than a spent conviction, for an indictable offence or an offence against this Act; or has been a member for at least 6 consecutive years and the proposed appointment would happen less than 1 year after the day the person was last a member.
