### sec.225 Rights of former public service officers
This section applies to a person who—
is employed by the authority in a permanent or full-time capacity; and
immediately before being so employed, was a public service officer.
The employee may claim against the authority the leave and other entitlements that had accrued to the employee as a public service officer and had not been taken, or claimed and paid.
For accruing long service leave and other entitlements, the period for which the employee was a public service officer immediately before becoming an employee of the authority is taken to be service as an employee of the authority.
The authority may ask the Treasurer to pay to it from the consolidated fund an amount, calculated on an actuarial basis, that represents the fair value of the leave and other entitlements that an employee of the authority may claim against the authority.
The Treasurer may agree to the request and pay the amount from the consolidated fund without further appropriation.
This section does not authorise an employee of the authority to claim or receive a benefit twice for the same entitlement.
