### sec.211 Duration of appointment
A member is appointed for the term (not longer than 5 years) stated in the member’s instrument of appointment.
The office of a member becomes vacant if—
the member resigns by signed notice of resignation given to the Minister; or
the member is found guilty of an indictable offence; or
the member’s appointment is ended under subsection (3) .
The Governor in Council may end a member’s appointment if—
the member engages in misbehaviour; or
the member becomes incapable of performing the duties of a member because of physical or mental incapacity; or
the member becomes bankrupt, applies to take the benefit of any law for the relief of bankrupt or insolvent debtors, compounds with the member’s creditors or makes an assignment of the member’s remuneration for their benefit; or
the member is absent from 3 consecutive meetings of the authority without the authority’s approval and without reasonable excuse.
