### sch.2-sec.2-oc.51 Scope of work Mechanical services work involving a relevant activity. The following building work— building work involving a relevant activity; constructing, installing, replacing, repairing, altering, maintaining, testing or commissioning a mechanical ventilation system in a building. Installation of fire collars that is incidental to work mentioned in subsection (1) or (2) . Design and prepare plans and specifications for— air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation and air handling systems for a building— that is not more than 3 storeys; and that has a floor area of not more than 2,000m 2 ; and for which the plant capacity for any 1 system for the building is not more than 34kW; or refrigeration systems for a building. However, the scope of work mentioned in subsection (4) only includes plans and specifications— to the extent the plans and specifications are for air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation and air handling systems for a building—if the systems do not form part of a fire or smoke hazard management system for the building; and that are— for the licensee’s personal use; and for use in building work to be performed by the licensee personally. Incidental work of another class. In this section— relevant activity means constructing, installing, replacing, repairing, altering, maintaining, testing or commissioning any of the following for a building— air-conditioning; air handling systems; equipment in which a refrigerant gas is, or is to be, used; refrigeration. sch 2 pt 48B s 2 ins 2019 SL No. 213 s 16 (8) amd 2019 SL No. 252 s 13 (8) – (10) (sch.2-sec.2-oc.51-ssec.1) Mechanical services work involving a relevant activity. (sch.2-sec.2-oc.51-ssec.7) In this section— relevant activity means constructing, installing, replacing, repairing, altering, maintaining, testing or commissioning any of the following for a building— air-conditioning; air handling systems; equipment in which a refrigerant gas is, or is to be, used; refrigeration. - (a) building work involving a relevant activity; - (b) constructing, installing, replacing, repairing, altering, maintaining, testing or commissioning a mechanical ventilation system in a building. - (a) air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation and air handling systems for a building— (i) that is not more than 3 storeys; and (ii) that has a floor area of not more than 2,000m 2 ; and (iii) for which the plant capacity for any 1 system for the building is not more than 34kW; or - (i) that is not more than 3 storeys; and - (ii) that has a floor area of not more than 2,000m 2 ; and - (iii) for which the plant capacity for any 1 system for the building is not more than 34kW; or - (b) refrigeration systems for a building. - (i) that is not more than 3 storeys; and - (ii) that has a floor area of not more than 2,000m 2 ; and - (iii) for which the plant capacity for any 1 system for the building is not more than 34kW; or - (a) to the extent the plans and specifications are for air-conditioning and mechanical ventilation and air handling systems for a building—if the systems do not form part of a fire or smoke hazard management system for the building; and - (b) that are— (i) for the licensee’s personal use; and (ii) for use in building work to be performed by the licensee personally. - (i) for the licensee’s personal use; and - (ii) for use in building work to be performed by the licensee personally. - (i) for the licensee’s personal use; and - (ii) for use in building work to be performed by the licensee personally. - (a) air-conditioning; - (b) air handling systems; - (c) equipment in which a refrigerant gas is, or is to be, used; - (d) refrigeration.
