### sec.74AC Relationship with safety laws If a provision of this division and a provision of a safety law deal with the same thing and it is possible to comply with both provisions, a person must comply with both provisions. However, to the extent it is not possible for the person to comply with both provisions, the person must comply with the provision of the safety law. Evidence of a contravention of this division is admissible in any proceeding for an offence against a provision of a safety law. If an act, omission or circumstances constitute an offence under this division and a safety law, the offender is not liable to be punished twice in relation to the act, omission or circumstances. In this section— safety law means— the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 ; or the Electrical Safety Act 2002 . s 74AC ins 2017 No. 29 s 11 (sec.74AC-ssec.1) If a provision of this division and a provision of a safety law deal with the same thing and it is possible to comply with both provisions, a person must comply with both provisions. (sec.74AC-ssec.2) However, to the extent it is not possible for the person to comply with both provisions, the person must comply with the provision of the safety law.
