### sec.35 Effect of registration under this division
This section applies if the registrar registers a default certificate under section 33 or prescribed particulars under section 34 .
On registration of the default certificate or particular—
if the amount is registered because of a default certificate, the amount unpaid is increased by the amount of the registration fee; and
SPER becomes responsible for the collection of, and may collect, the unpaid amount; and
if the amount is registered because of a default certificate, a proceeding against the person for the offence may be started in a court only under this part.
To remove any doubt, it is declared that subsection (2) (a) applies whether or not section 33 (3) applies in relation to the default certificate.
However, subsection (2) (a) does not apply in relation to the registration of an amended default certificate given to SPER under section 33 (7) .
In this section—
amount unpaid , for an infringement notice offence involving a vehicle, includes the cost of establishing ownership of the vehicle.
