### sec.24 Purpose of chapter
The purpose of this chapter is to ensure each prescribed entity—
develops a diverse workforce that represents and reflects the diverse views, experiences and backgrounds of the people of Queensland; and
actively progresses equity and diversity in employment matters for diversity target groups, including conducting an annual equity and diversity audit and actively progressing gender pay equity; and
can demonstrate there are equal conditions of employment and equality in access to employment opportunities and leadership roles; and
fosters a respectful and inclusive workplace culture in which all employees feel safe, valued, accepted and supported at work and can participate equally; and
creates a workplace free from unlawful discrimination.
In this section—
actively progressing gender pay equity includes taking measures to achieve—
equal remuneration for male and female employees for work of equal or comparable value; and
equity for women in employment conditions; and
equity in women’s access to working arrangements and employment and development opportunities.

- (a) develops a diverse workforce that represents and reflects the diverse views, experiences and backgrounds of the people of Queensland; and
- (b) actively progresses equity and diversity in employment matters for diversity target groups, including conducting an annual equity and diversity audit and actively progressing gender pay equity; and
- (c) can demonstrate there are equal conditions of employment and equality in access to employment opportunities and leadership roles; and
- (d) fosters a respectful and inclusive workplace culture in which all employees feel safe, valued, accepted and supported at work and can participate equally; and
- (e) creates a workplace free from unlawful discrimination.
