### sec.8H Extension of terrorist emergency beyond 7 days
This section applies if the Minister and the Premier are satisfied, in relation to a terrorist emergency, that it is necessary for police officers to continue to exercise terrorist emergency powers beyond the current period of the terrorist emergency to protect—
life or health at serious risk; or
critical infrastructure.
Before the current period of the terrorist emergency ends, the Minister and the Premier may extend the period of the terrorist emergency by 1 or more periods of not more than 7 days each.
However, an extension may not be made under subsection (2) if the total period of the terrorist emergency, including the extension and each other extension already made under this section or section 8HA , would be more than 28 days.

(sec.8H-ssec.1) This section applies if the Minister and the Premier are satisfied, in relation to a terrorist emergency, that it is necessary for police officers to continue to exercise terrorist emergency powers beyond the current period of the terrorist emergency to protect— life or health at serious risk; or critical infrastructure.
(sec.8H-ssec.2) Before the current period of the terrorist emergency ends, the Minister and the Premier may extend the period of the terrorist emergency by 1 or more periods of not more than 7 days each.
