### sec.8AAA Requirements for destruction of explosives
Subsection (2) applies if the destruction of an explosive under section 8 (1) (j) by the emergency commander or another police officer is likely to cause structural damage to a building.
Before destroying the explosive, the emergency commander or police officer must obtain the approval of a State police officer of at least the rank of assistant commissioner, if it is reasonably practicable to do so.
Subsection (4) applies if—
the emergency commander or another police officer destroys an explosive under section 8 (1) (j) without approval under subsection (2) ; and
the destruction causes structural damage to a building.
The emergency commander or police officer must, as soon as reasonably practicable, inform a State police officer of at least the rank of assistant commissioner of the destruction and the structural damage.

(sec.8AAA-ssec.4) The emergency commander or police officer must, as soon as reasonably practicable, inform a State police officer of at least the rank of assistant commissioner of the destruction and the structural damage.
- (a) the emergency commander or another police officer destroys an explosive under section 8 (1) (j) without approval under subsection (2) ; and
- (b) the destruction causes structural damage to a building.
