### sec.21 Notifying archives about particular public records
A public authority must give notice to the archivist if the authority has custody of a public record—
that is more than 25 years old; or
that the authority knows, or ought reasonably to know—
is of permanent value, regardless of its age; and
is at risk of loss or damage.

a digital public record held in an electronic system to be decommissioned
- (a) that is more than 25 years old; or
- (b) that the authority knows, or ought reasonably to know— (i) is of permanent value, regardless of its age; and (ii) is at risk of loss or damage.
