### sec.12 Compliance with standards and regard for policies and guidelines
In making or managing a public record, a public authority—
must comply with any relevant standards made by the archivist; and
must have regard to any relevant policy made by the archivist; and
may have regard to any relevant guidelines made by the archivist.
See section 46 for how the archivist makes standards, policies and guidelines.
