54 Procedure licence—emergency suspension
(1) The grounds for the suspension of a procedure licence under this
section are as follows:
(a) contravention by the licensee of a condition to which the licence
is subject;
(b) subject to section 55, the giving of a prohibition notice to the
licensee.
(2) The Minister may, by notice in writing given to the holder of a
procedure licence, suspend the licence for a period not exceeding
6 months where the Minister has reasonable grounds for believing
(a) there exists a ground for the suspension of a licence under this
section; and
(b) it is necessary to suspend the licence in order to prevent or
remove an imminent serious risk to public health.
(3) A suspension takes effect on the date on which the notice is given to
the licensee.
(4) A notice of suspension must—
(a) specify the ground upon which the licence is suspended; and
(b) specify the period of the suspension; and
(c) state the facts and circumstances that, in the Minister’s opinion,
constitute that ground.
