### sec.29 Steps involved in obtaining a licence
A person who wishes to obtain a licence must be a suitable person to hold a licence under division 8 .
The person must apply for the licence by—
giving the chief executive an application showing, among other things, the person is eligible for the licence; and
paying—
the fees prescribed under a regulation; and
if, before or when the application is made, a criminal history costs requirement is made of the applicant—the amount of the costs required to be paid; and
giving the chief executive the other information required under section 31 .
In deciding the person’s application, the chief executive must have regard, among other things, to—
the person’s suitability to hold a licence under this Act; and
the person’s eligibility for the licence.
(sec.29-ssec.1) A person who wishes to obtain a licence must be a suitable person to hold a licence under division 8 .

(sec.29-ssec.3) In deciding the person’s application, the chief executive must have regard, among other things, to— the person’s suitability to hold a licence under this Act; and the person’s eligibility for the licence.
- (a) giving the chief executive an application showing, among other things, the person is eligible for the licence; and
- (b) paying— (i) the fees prescribed under a regulation; and (ii) if, before or when the application is made, a criminal history costs requirement is made of the applicant—the amount of the costs required to be paid; and
- (i) the fees prescribed under a regulation; and
- (ii) if, before or when the application is made, a criminal history costs requirement is made of the applicant—the amount of the costs required to be paid; and
- (c) giving the chief executive the other information required under section 31 .
- (i) the fees prescribed under a regulation; and

- (a) the person’s suitability to hold a licence under this Act; and
