### sec.223 Powers of particular corporations
This section applies to a corporation other than—
a corporation under the Corporations Act ; or
a corporation incorporated under another Act if the Act expressly provides for the way in which the corporation may do each of the things mentioned in subsection (2) (a) to (c) .
The corporation has all the powers of an individual and may, for example—
enter into contracts; and
acquire, hold, dispose of, and deal with, property; and
appoint agents and attorneys.
If a contract made by an individual is valid only if in writing signed by the individual, the contract may be made by the corporation in writing signed by a person acting under the express or implied authority of the corporation.
If a contract made by an individual is valid even if made by parol, the contract may be made by parol by the corporation by a person acting under the express or implied authority of the corporation.
In this section—
contract includes transaction.
