### sec.22 Creation of future interests in land If a future interest in land is created, it takes effect as an equitable and not a legal interest. Despite the Land Title Act 1994 , an interest in remainder must not be registered in the freehold land register. In this section— future interest means— a legal contingent remainder; or a legal executory interest. (sec.22-ssec.1) If a future interest in land is created, it takes effect as an equitable and not a legal interest.
