### sec.18 Waiver by State of any remaining rights to property by escheat
This section applies if a person believes the State may have a right to property by escheat, devolution or bona vacantia on the death intestate of a person.
The person may apply to the Minister to waive the State’s rights.
The Minister may waive the State’s rights on terms the Minister considers appropriate.
The Minister must publish in the gazette the details of a waiver under this section.
The Minister may delegate the Minister’s functions or powers under this section to an appropriately qualified public service employee.
In this section—
right includes a supposed right.
(sec.18-ssec.1) This section applies if a person believes the State may have a right to property by escheat, devolution or bona vacantia on the death intestate of a person.
(sec.18-ssec.2) The person may apply to the Minister to waive the State’s rights.
(sec.18-ssec.3) The Minister may waive the State’s rights on terms the Minister considers appropriate.
