### sec.87 Vacation of office
The office of a member becomes vacant if the member—
dies; or
resigns office by written notice given to the Minister; or
is removed from office under section 86 .
Also, the office of a member becomes vacant if the member ceases to hold the office or qualification, if any, mentioned in section 82 (2) for the member.
If a member resigns, the resignation takes effect on the day the notice is given or, if a later day is stated in the notice, on the later day.

(sec.87-ssec.1) The office of a member becomes vacant if the member— dies; or resigns office by written notice given to the Minister; or is removed from office under section 86 .
(sec.87-ssec.2) Also, the office of a member becomes vacant if the member ceases to hold the office or qualification, if any, mentioned in section 82 (2) for the member.
(sec.87-ssec.3) If a member resigns, the resignation takes effect on the day the notice is given or, if a later day is stated in the notice, on the later day.
- (a) dies; or
- (b) resigns office by written notice given to the Minister; or
- (c) is removed from office under section 86 .
