### sec.62W Information notice about forfeiture decision If the board decides under section 62V (1) to forfeit a seized thing, the board must as soon as practicable give a person who owned the thing immediately before the forfeiture (the former owner ) an information notice about the decision. If the decision was made under section 62V (1) (a) or (b) , the information notice may be given by leaving it at the place where the seized thing was seized, in a conspicuous position and in a reasonably secure way. The information notice must state that the former owner may apply for a stay of the decision if he or she applies to the tribunal for a review of the decision. However, subsections (1) to (3) do not apply if— the decision was made under section 62V (1) (a) or (b) ; and the place where the seized thing was seized is— a public place; or a place where the notice is unlikely to be read by the former owner. s 62W ins 2020 No. 24 s 99 (sec.62W-ssec.1) If the board decides under section 62V (1) to forfeit a seized thing, the board must as soon as practicable give a person who owned the thing immediately before the forfeiture (the former owner ) an information notice about the decision.
