### sec.142 Protection from liability
This section applies to each of the following persons (a relevant person )—
the Minister;
a board member;
an investigator;
a person engaged, under section 45 , to assist the board or an investigator;
an employee of the board.
A relevant person is not civilly liable to someone for an act done, or omission made, honestly and without negligence under this Act.
If subsection (2) prevents a civil liability attaching to a relevant person mentioned in subsection (1) (a) , the liability attaches instead to the State.
If subsection (2) prevents a civil liability attaching to a relevant person mentioned in subsection (1) (b) , (c) , (d) or (e) , the liability attaches instead to the board.
