### sec.139 Proceedings for offences A proceeding for an offence against this Act is to be heard and decided summarily. The proceeding must start— within 1 year after the commission of the offence; or within 1 year after the offence comes to the complainant’s knowledge, but within 2 years after the commission of the offence. s 139 amd 2008 No. 14 s 18 ; 2014 No. 56 s 20 sub 2020 No. 24 s 105 (sec.139-ssec.1) A proceeding for an offence against this Act is to be heard and decided summarily. (sec.139-ssec.2) The proceeding must start— within 1 year after the commission of the offence; or within 1 year after the offence comes to the complainant’s knowledge, but within 2 years after the commission of the offence. - (a) within 1 year after the commission of the offence; or - (b) within 1 year after the offence comes to the complainant’s knowledge, but within 2 years after the commission of the offence.
