Tasmania regulation
This is a Proclamation — a formal legal notice issued by the Governor of Tasmania — that brings into operation (or designates something under) the Workplaces (Protection from Protesters) Act 2014 (a Tasmanian law that restricts protest activity near certain workplaces, particularly forestry and agricultural sites).
A Proclamation like this is essentially an "on" switch for legislation or specific provisions within it. It formally activates the parent Act or declares that certain places or activities fall within its coverage. The Proclamation itself has been in force since 24 December 2014 and has not changed since.
This Proclamation is the legal trigger that gives the parent Act its practical force. Without it, the Act's protections may not apply. It is notable because the parent Act has been — critics argue it unduly restricts the democratic right to protest, while supporters say it protects workers and businesses from dangerous or disruptive interference.
