### sec.5A.8 Circumstances for alcohol testing
An authorised person may require a relevant person to submit to an alcohol test if—
the person has been involved in a critical incident; or
the test is authorised under section 5A .9; or
an authorised person reasonably suspects the person is contravening or has contravened section 5A .7; or
for an officer who is an applicant to become an operative, the person is required to undergo a medical examination for deciding the person’s suitability to be an operative.

- (a) the person has been involved in a critical incident; or
- (b) the test is authorised under section 5A .9; or
- (c) an authorised person reasonably suspects the person is contravening or has contravened section 5A .7; or
- (d) for an officer who is an applicant to become an operative, the person is required to undergo a medical examination for deciding the person’s suitability to be an operative.
