### sec.5.5 Acting as executive officer
The commissioner may appoint an appropriate person to act as executive officer during—
any vacancy, or all vacancies, in the office of executive officer; or
any period, or all periods, when the executive officer is absent from duty or, for another reason, can not perform the duties of the office.
The remuneration payable to a person who acts as an executive officer must not be more than the remuneration payable to the executive officer.

(sec.5.5-ssec.1) The commissioner may appoint an appropriate person to act as executive officer during— any vacancy, or all vacancies, in the office of executive officer; or any period, or all periods, when the executive officer is absent from duty or, for another reason, can not perform the duties of the office.
(sec.5.5-ssec.2) The remuneration payable to a person who acts as an executive officer must not be more than the remuneration payable to the executive officer.
