### sec.4.8 Commissioner’s responsibility
The commissioner is responsible for—
the efficient and proper administration, management and functioning of the police service in accordance with law; and
without limiting paragraph (a) , the efficient and proper administration, management and functioning of—
Marine Rescue Queensland under the Marine Rescue Queensland Act 2024 ; and
the State Emergency Service under the State Emergency Service Act 2024 .
Without limiting subsection (1) , a regulation may prescribe—
particular matters within the scope of the prescribed responsibility; or
additional responsibilities of the commissioner.
The commissioner is authorised to do, or cause to be done, all such lawful acts and things as the commissioner considers to be necessary or convenient for the efficient and proper discharge of the prescribed responsibility.
In discharging the prescribed responsibility, the commissioner—
is to comply with all relevant industrial instruments and determinations and rules made by an industrial authority; and
subject to this Act, is to ensure compliance with the requirements of all Acts and laws binding on members of the police service, and directions of the commissioner; and
is to have regard to section 4 .6 and ministerial directions duly given thereunder; and
is to discharge the responsibility in relation to such matters as are prescribed for the time being.

(sec.4.8-ssec.1) The commissioner is responsible for— the efficient and proper administration, management and functioning of the police service in accordance with law; and without limiting paragraph (a) , the efficient and proper administration, management and functioning of— Marine Rescue Queensland under the Marine Rescue Queensland Act 2024 ; and the State Emergency Service under the State Emergency Service Act 2024 .
(sec.4.8-ssec.2) Without limiting subsection (1) , a regulation may prescribe— particular matters within the scope of the prescribed responsibility; or additional responsibilities of the commissioner.

- (b) without limiting paragraph (a) , the efficient and proper administration, management and functioning of— (i) Marine Rescue Queensland under the Marine Rescue Queensland Act 2024 ; and (ii) the State Emergency Service under the State Emergency Service Act 2024 .
- (i) Marine Rescue Queensland under the Marine Rescue Queensland Act 2024 ; and
- (ii) the State Emergency Service under the State Emergency Service Act 2024 .
- (i) Marine Rescue Queensland under the Marine Rescue Queensland Act 2024 ; and
- (ii) the State Emergency Service under the State Emergency Service Act 2024 .
- (a) particular matters within the scope of the prescribed responsibility; or
- (b) additional responsibilities of the commissioner.
