### sec.783 Sale of motor vehicle if not recovered after impounding ends
If, within 2 months after a period of impounding of a motor vehicle ends, the owner of the motor vehicle does not recover it, the commissioner may sell the motor vehicle and anything in or on it by public auction or dispose of it in the way the commissioner considers appropriate.
Notice of the proposed sale or disposal must be published on the police service website.
Also, the commissioner must give written notice of the proposed sale or disposal of the motor vehicle to the owner.
