### sec.741 Acting monitor
The Governor in Council may appoint a person, who is qualified for appointment as the public interest monitor, to act as the public interest monitor—
during a vacancy in the office; or
during any period, or all periods, when the public interest monitor is absent from duty or from the State or, for another reason, can not perform the duties of the office.
The Governor in Council may appoint a person, who is qualified for appointment as a deputy public interest monitor, to act as a deputy public interest monitor—
during a vacancy in the office; or
during any period, or all periods, when a deputy public interest monitor is absent from duty or from the State or, for another reason, can not perform the duties of the office.
